Storytelling is food for the soul

This year, for Women’s History Month, Briogeo is celebrating the women who tell our stories and highlighting different types of storytellers that the Briogeo team connects with.

This week, we’re highlighting female chefs who’ve inspired us with their cooking. We’re excited to spotlight three team favorites, one of whom has created a custom recipe inspired by Briogeo Superfoods!

Margarita Manzke: A Pastry chef + the co-founder of Republique, Sari Sari Store + Bicyclette Bistro, Manzke discovered her love for food at a young age + now has established her own techniques + flavors into her work. She’s been nominated for the James Beard Awards Outstanding Pastry Chef category for several years running + continues to make an impact on the Los Angeles food scene.

Samin Nosrat: A chef, author + educator, Nosrat discovered her passion for food during her undergrad years at the University of California, Berkeley. Since then, she strives to inspire, cultivate community + bring awareness to social + environmental issues through her words + food. Her first book, Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat is a #1 New York Times Bestseller + has a docuseries based on it on Netflix.

Alex Hill: A self-taught cook with a desire to make food that’s packed with flavor, but also functional + affordable. Hill combined her background in Marketing + her love for food to bring to life Just Add Hot Sauce—a blog dedicated to her mother who inspired + empowered her early on in the kitchen.

Alex prepared a custom smoothie recipe for Briogeo, inspired by our Superfoods collection:
